Cincinnati, Ohio is located in southern Ohio right on the Ohio River and quite near to the Kentucky and Indiana borders. That is often why this area is called the tri-state area with the 3 states in close proximity to one another. The cost of living in this city is very reasonable and much lower than a lot of other metropolitan locations in the country. There are many communities within the city limits in addition as just outside downtown Cincinnati that have different types of housing like Cincinnati apartments or Cincinnati apartment rentals, condos and town homes, and rental homes. This article explore these different leasing choices for people to rent.
If you are a recent college graduate and would like to live close to your new employment in downtown Cincinnati there are several various apartment options. If you like hi-rise buildings, then there are a few that are located looking over downtown as well as the Ohio River that may be great for you. There is not a huge amount of residential properties located smack downtown but many apartment buildings within a 10 minute drive or so.
The Newport, Kentucky area has been reinventing itself over the past decade and trying to improve itself to attract more residents and businesses to relocate there. Just twenty years ago, this area was filled with crime and quite rundown but now this ideal location directly on the river looking back at the Cincinnati skyline has improved with a great riverfront area of restaurants and shops and a state of the art aquarium too. Now rehabbed residential properties, Particularly some beautiful condos and town homes are in Newport and some of them are located in former warehouse style buildings that give some wonderful character to the properties.
If you wish to lease a house because you have kids or you want to live with several roommates, then consider looking in the charmy and trendy neighborhood of Mount Adams. This is located on top of the tallest hill in Cincinnati looking down on the skyline, the river and all of the downtown area in general. The winding, hilly roads are much like a small scaled San Francisco with colorful, Victorian style homes with almost as many restaurants and bars as houses. To get a rental house in Mount Adams, the space may be smaller and more expensive due to the great location. This is the top location to be for the 20 something group.
One area that has gone downhill and constantly is trying to clean up its image is the part of downtown called Over-The Rhine. Some people are purchasing places and remodeling them up to attract new renters that live in a fantastic building that is updated but has spectacular architectural history to it for a lot less money. It will probably be a few years for this to take off successfully though. Over-the Rhine has the well known year round Findley Market and some great art venues but needs to lower the crime in the neighborhood also.

Connor’s son was encouraged to see several Cincinnati apartment rentals listed in his price range. Don’t reprint this exact article. I’d recommend the Cincinnati Art Museum as well. It’s located in Eden Park, adjacent to the neighborhood of Mt. Adams, which is itself worth visiting, if only to see the view from the Church of the Immaculata. As for the Art Museum itself, it has a pretty good collection for a medium-sized city. They opened a new ‘Cincinnati Wing’ several years ago that focuses on local art and artists, so it does provide some local history too. It also now has free admission at all times (I think they do still charge for some special exhibits, but the permanent collection is free) thanks to a large donation.
